Special Announcement
A Special Concert Invitation: America 250 in Wyncote on January 23
We are excited to invite you to a joyful musical celebration marking America’s upcoming 250th anniversary. On Friday, January 23 at 7:00 p.m., the Mada & Hugh Piano Duo will present America 250: A 4-Hand Piano Celebration at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Wyncote, Pennsylvania, a free community concert created to honor the many voices that have shaped American music.
This uplifting program brings together iconic works from nearly a century of American composition. You will hear favorites by Gershwin, Copland, Bernstein, and Florence Price, along with contemporary pieces by Jennifer Higdon and John Carollo. Together, these works offer a vivid portrait of our nation’s musical story, from early twentieth century energy to modern day imagination.
If you have never experienced four-hand piano music, this is a wonderful opportunity. Two pianists sharing one instrument create a sound that feels orchestral in scope, and the visual coordination of the performers adds an engaging and memorable dimension to the experience.
The Mada and Hugh Piano Duo, winners of major international competitions, brings a blend of artistry, joy, and cross-cultural perspective to this anniversary program. Their performances are known for both technical brilliance and heartfelt storytelling, qualities that shine beautifully in American repertoire.
Whether you are a long-time classical music lover or simply looking for an inspiring evening out, this concert welcomes everyone. Admission is free, and seating is first come, first served. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Composer SpotlightLeonard Bernstein (1918 - 1990)
Leonard Bernstein stands as one of the most influential American composers and conductors of the twentieth century, celebrated for his gift of blending classical craft with the energy of American popular music. For this concert, we are thrilled to share our own four hand arrangement of “America” from West Side Story. This special version will weave together themes from “America the Beautiful,” George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, and “Another Day of Sun” from La La Land, creating a lively and imaginative tribute to the musical spirit of our country.
